New Road Community Development Group Housing Initiatives

This initiative and its concepts are independent projects supported by the Town, but fully under ownership and direction of The New Roads Community Development Group of Exmore, headed by Ava Gabriella Wise. The New Roads Community Development Group, founded in the 1990s, is dedicated to bringing attractive affordable housing to Exmore through advocacy and land development. The current initiative, known as The Legacy Project, involves development of a nine-acre parcel adjacent to Route 13 in the historic black enclave known as New Road Community.
Phase I of the project centers on constructing four homes to serve as models for full development of the six-acre residential component of the project: one 4-bedroom home, one 3-bedroom home, and two 2-bedroom homes. Funding is in place for site development of the full nine acres, including roads, curbing and other infrastructure.
